10_1107_india-1125inheritThe Taj from the reflecting pools. The Taj Mahal 'Crown of the Palace', is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (reigned from 1628 to 1658) to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 17-hectare (42-acre) complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house. The Taj was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". It is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of India's rich history.10057

Parks empty during Lockdown in East London - Corvid-19inheritLondon, UK - 31 March 2020: A man walks away past a sign by a corner shop in Plashet Grove, East London during the Covid19 lockdown. I took the photo on the second weekend of lockdown by a corner shop down my road. It was when panic buying was in the news and shops were closing down thus getting access to basic essentials was already a major issue.  My daughter & I were on our morning walk and I was keen to document the signs outside shop windows - my way of feeling i was not facing this alone. The government has advised the public to stay at home across the UK due to the Covid-19 pandemic but for essential trips for basics and exercise. 9994
